Roy Gunn

Roy Gunn, age 97, of Demorest, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 17, 2011, following an extended illness. Mr. Gunn was born in Habersham County, Georgia on June 15, 1914, to the late John Andrew and Tamsey Tench Gunn. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Ola Mae Gibson Gunn, son, William Gunn, granddaughters, Teresa Renee Gunn and Lynn Gunn Cooper. Mr. Gunn was of the Congregational Holiness Faith. He was retired from the Cornelia Broom Company with many dedicated years. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Evelyn and Tommie Lewallen, Demorest, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny and Pauline Gunn and Harold and Dianne Gunn, all of Demorest, GA; 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., on Sunday, June 19, 2011, at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia with Rev. Wayne Hicks officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethel Temple Congregational Holiness Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until the funeral hour on Sunday, June 19, 2011, at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia.
