Ronald Logan Summers

November 4, 1947 — June 26, 2023

Ronald L. Summers, age 75, of Mount Airy, Georgia passed away on Monday, June 26, 2023, peacefully at home with his family.

Mr. Summers, a native of Memphis, TN, was preceded in death by his parents Thomas A. Summers and Mary Nelle Summers and brother Larry Summers.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Dorothy Wright Summers, of Mount Airy; children Mary (Reb) Haizlip of Memphis and Thomas (Toni) Summers of Knoxville; grandchildren Taeryn Summers of Tulsa, OK and James Summers of Knoxville; sisters, Lynda Brooks of Byhalia, MS; Carolyn Williams, of Colorado Springs, CO; Sue McCormick of Franktown, CO; brothers, Bill Summers, of St. Louis, MO; John Summers, of Flowery Branch, GA.

Ron was a proud Veteran of the United States Air Force having served with honors in the Vietnam War. He loved spending time with his wife, was an avid fisherman and enjoyed participating in sporting clay competitions and playing cards - which inevitably led to sharing stories and tall tales with his treasured friends. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and his sweet cat Lucy.

A formal funeral service will not be held; the family will notify loved ones when a celebration of life has been scheduled.

In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to an animal shelter of one’s choice.
