Robert "Douglas" Collins

Robert "Douglas" Collins, age 84, of Alto, Georgia passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2016 following an extended illness. Mr. Collins was born on July 14, 1932 in Barnesville, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hoyt and Nora Lee Collins; daughter, Susan Collins Stowe; son-in-law, Buck Oliver; brother, Hoyt Collins, Jr. Mr. Collins was of the Baptist Faith. He was a retired self-employed contractor. Survivors include his wife, Catherine Brown Collins, of Alto; daughter and son-in-law, Glenda and Todd Berry, of Gainesville; daughter, Johna Oliver, of Alto; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Jeannie Collins, of Cleveland; brother, Russell Collins, of Barnesville; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia with Pastor Ricky McFarlin and Mr. Martin Graham officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 14, 2016 prior to the service at the funeral home.
