Robert Clinton Cook Sr.

August 31, 1922 — January 25, 2010

ROBERT C. COOK, SR., age 87, of Alto, GA passed away on Monday, January 25, 2010, at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a short illness. Mr. Cook was born on August 31, 1922 to the late Clarence Neese Cook and Lilly Christine Butler Cook. Mr. Cook was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cornelia, GA. He was also a member of the Currahee Mountain Good Sams RV Camping Group. Mr. Cook was a U.S. Navy Veteran having proudly served his country during World War II, receiving the rank of Chief Petty Officer. He was a very accomplished wood worker. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Patricia Gilmore Cook, Alto, GA; his daughter, Nancy Frazier, Elizabeth City, NC; his sons and daughters-in-law, Robert C. "Rusty" Jr. and Mary Cook, Poinciana, FL, David and Marcia Cook, Lula, GA; his grandchildren, Clint Cook, Duluth, GA, Lorrie Williams, Maryville, IL, Jenny Parker, Troy, IL, Lisa Frazier, Bergenfield, NJ, and Patricia Stone, Martinsburg, West Virginia; 6 great-grandchildren. A private service will be held at a later date for Mr. Cook. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the National Federation of the Blind, 1800 Johnson Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21230 or the Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center, 2150 Limestone Pkwy., Suite 222, Gainesville, GA 30501.
