ROBERT C. COOK, SR., age 87, of Alto, GA passed away on Monday, January 25, 2010, at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a short illness. Mr. Cook was born on August 31, 1922 to the late Clarence Neese Cook and Lilly Christine Butler Cook. Mr. Cook was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cornelia, GA. He was also a member of the Currahee Mountain Good Sams RV Camping Group. Mr. Cook was a U.S. Navy Veteran having proudly served his country during World War II, receiving the rank of Chief Petty Officer. He was a very accomplished wood worker. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Patricia Gilmore Cook, Alto, GA; his daughter, Nancy Frazier, Elizabeth City, NC; his sons and daughters-in-law, Robert C. "Rusty" Jr. and Mary Cook, Poinciana, FL, David and Marcia Cook, Lula, GA; his grandchildren, Clint Cook, Duluth, GA, Lorrie Williams, Maryville, IL, Jenny Parker, Troy, IL, Lisa Frazier, Bergenfield, NJ, and Patricia Stone, Martinsburg, West Virginia; 6 great-grandchildren. A private service will be held at a later date for Mr. Cook.
