Ricky Wayne Goodman

RICKY WAYNE GOODMAN, age 48 of Homer, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness. Mr. Goodman was born in Marietta, Georgia on January 14, 1963, a son of Harley W. and Frances A. Goodman of Toccoa, Georgia. He served in the U.S. Army for 19 ½ years and proudly served in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Mr. Goodman was a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, David A. and Mary Ann Frady Ramey. Survivors in addition to his parents include his wife of 29 years, Deborah Ramey Goodman; Homer, GA; sons, Ricky W. Goodman, II, Baldwin, GA; David Joseph Goodman, Homer, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley and Dennis Doss, Amber and Mark Harmon, all of Mt. Airy, GA; granddaughter, Lillian Elaine Goodman, Maysville, GA; sisters-in-law, Sabrina Ramey, Marlene Armstrong, both of Baldwin, GA; brothers-in-law, Joe Ramey Baldwin, GA; Roger Ramey, Hickory, NC; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A memorial service is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Friday, March 18, 2011 from the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel - Baldwin, Georgia with the Pastor Trent Smith officiating. Mr. Goodman's wishes were to be cremated. The family will receive friends at the South Chapel in Baldwin from 10:00 a.m. until 12 noon and from 4:00 p.m. until the service hour on Friday.
