Richard Wimpey

Richard Wimpey, age 65 of Clarkesville, GA passed away Sunday, August 17, 2008 following an Auto Accident. Mr. Wimpey was born in Blairsville, GA on September 12, 1942 to the late Arther Richard and Velma Mae Ferguson Wimpey. He was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Wimpey. Mr. Wimpey was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, Hayesville, NC and a retired Poultry Farmer. Survivors include his wife, Lois Wimpey, Clarkesville, GA; daughter, Linda Wimpey Martin, Demorest, GA; Step-daughter Mary Moore, Clarkesville, GA; step-son, Robert Stone, Clayton, GA; sisters, Nell Ramey, Clarkesville, GA, Jean England, Blairsville, GA, Nora Bell Dale, Elijay, GA and Annie Mae Jackson, Dalton, GA; one grandchild, Ashley Martin; step-grandchildren, Alivia Dodd, Travis Dodd, Ricky Carl Mason, and Trista Stone. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at 4 p.m. at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA with Rev. Phillip Yarber officiating. Graveside services will be held Saturday, August 23, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Yonah Memorial Gardens, Demorest, GA.. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 19, 2008 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are in the care of Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA
