RICHARD J. DAVIDSON, age 64, of Alto, GA, died Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Mr. Davidson was born on October 26, 1942 in Banks County, Georgia to the late Joe Dennis and Florean Meeks Davidson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Yvonne Chitwood. Mr. Davidson was a United States Air Force veteran. He was a member of the Canaan Baptist Church and was a retired electrician with 30 years of service. Survivors include: his wife, Lillian "Lucy" Davidson, Alto, GA; his daughters: Theresa Harrison, Alto, GA; Toni Wagoner, Blairsville, GA; his son: Joe Davidson, Alto, GA; his sisters: Marie Blalock, Alto, GA; Frances Haynes, Baldwin, GA; Brenda Ivie, Cornelia, GA; Peggy Hamby, Phoenix City, AL; Cheryl Poole, Carnesville, GA; his brothers: Lewis Davidson, Alto, GA; Perry Davidson, Alto, GA; Jerry Davidson, Cleveland, GA; Ricky Davidson, Alto, GA; 4 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 26, 2007 from the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin with Rev. Thomas Gragg and Rev. Lester Haynes officiating. Burial will follow in the Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Cecil Thomas officiating at the graveside. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday.
