Rex Edwin Goodson

Rex Edwin Goodson, age 67, of Alto, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center surrounded by his loved ones.

Mr. Goodson was born on October 14, 1955 in Hall County, Georgia to the late Coy and Edith White Goodson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Kathy Goodson; son, Waylon Goodson; and great-granddaughter, Kaelynn Goodson.

Rex enjoyed life. He will be remembered as a family man with a big heart and he could turn any situation into something positive. He enjoyed cooking and "tinkering" with things, including his motorcycles and his lawnmowers. Rex was a loving and dedicated father and grandfather.

Survivors include his daughter, Serena Goodson, of Alto; son, Jason Goodson, of Alto; son, Corey Goodson, of Alto; daughter, Courtney Carpenter, of Rabun Gap; significant other, Gail Williams, of Demorest; step-son, Lee Williams, of Westminster, SC; step-daughter, Kim Williams, of Lula; nine grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside Services will be held at 4:30 p.m., Sunday, April 16, 2023 at Rehoboth Congregational Holiness Church Cemtery (Formerly the Mt. Sinai Congregational Holiness Church Cemetery).

The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, April 16, 2023 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel.
