Rev. Walter Burrell

REV. WALTER BURRELL, age 75, of Demorest, GA passed away Saturday, April 24, 2010. Rev. Burrell was born in Highlands, NC on September 3, 1934. He was the son of the late William Robert "Bob" and Bertha Holcomb Burrell. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Melody Burrell Maxwell. Rev. Burrell was pastor of Return Baptist Church and had served sixty one years of full-time ministry in evangelism and pastoring all over the world. He was a former pastor of five different churches from Mississippi, Tennessee and in North Georgia. Survivors include wife, Pat Burrell, of Demorest, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby and Sheila Burrell, of Demorest, GA, Greg and LauraLee Burrell, of Cornelia, GA, and Bill and Cyndi Burrell, of Cornelia, GA; sister and brothers-in-law, Lila Ann and John Brown, of Roswell, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Rev. Billy and Eugenie Burrell, of Mt. Airy, GA; eight grandchildren, Kayla, Kyle, and Kris Maxwell, Ashlyn and Austin Burrell, Caleb and Haden Burrell, and Isabella Burrell; one great-grandchild, Destyni Banks. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at Return Baptist Church with Dr. Bob Jones, Rev. Billy Burrell and Rev. Crawford Bradshaw officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Dr. Bill Hall officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA.
