Rev. Bob Watson, Sr.

REV. BOB WATSON, SR., age 84, of Demorest, Georgia passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2014. Rev. Watson was born on December 21, 1929 in St. Petersburg, Florida; son of the late William T. and Lucy Roberts Watson. He was also preceded in death by his son, Bill Watson. Rev. Watson was a member of Level Grove Baptist Church and served in the Navel Reserve. He was a retired minister of the Gospel with 55 years of service. Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Peggy L. Watson, Demorest; daughter and son-in-law, Dr. Lynda and Barry Barron, Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Susan Watson, Demorest; grandchildren, April Watson Miller, Robin Watson Moser, Caleb Barron, Brittany Barron; great-grandchildren, Hannah Moser and Ainsley Moser. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 18, 2014, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia with Rev. Furman Lewis, Rev. Brian James, Dr. Tom Mewborn and Rev. Terry Rice officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2014.
