Reno Ivester

Mr. Reno Ivester, age 92 of Clarkesville, Georgia passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2010. Mr. Ivester was born in Stephens County, Georgia, on November 24, 1917. He was the son of the late Moses and Mary Fry Ivester. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Hattie Mae Turpin Ivester, daughter, Elizabeth Cody, son, Namon Ivester, grandchildren, Anthony and Rebecca Ivester. He was a member of the Shirley Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Ivester was retired from Scovell manufacturing with 16 years of service and formerly employed with Tallulah Falls Railway. Survivors include his daughter, Gail Ivester, Turnerville, GA; sons, Horace Ivester and George Ivester, both of Turnerville, GA; sister, Mary Lee Turpin, Turnerville, GA; brother, Ernest Ivester, Charlotte, NC; 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church on Monday, July 26, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ronald DeMore and Rev. Marty Kilby officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
