Reba Segars Parker, age 88, of Lula, Georgia, died Sunday, October 4, 2009 at her residence. Mrs. Parker was born on August 14, 1921 in Banks County, Georgia to the late William Andrew and Lou Ausburn Segars. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vasco Parker, a daughter, Brenda Jordan, a son, Russell Parker, and seven sisters, and one brother. She was a member of the Rock Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. Parker was retired from the Banks County School System as a lunchroom worker with 14 years of dedicated service. Survivors include: her daughters and sons-in-law: Shelby and Gene McDuffie, Baldwin, GA; Jenni and David Gailey, Lula, GA; her son: Wayne Parker, Lula, GA; her sister: Lessie Mote, Baldwin, GA; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and one on the way. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 from the Rock Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Rice and Rev. Orton Deans officiating. Interment will follow in church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia from 4 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in honor of Miley Parker, in memory of Reba Parker, to, C.U.R.E.
