Ralph E. Gunter

RALPH E. GUNTER, age 73, of Lula, GA, died Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Mr. Gunter was born on November 15, 1922 in White County, Georgia. He was a son of the late Elmer and Mary Skelton Gunter and was also preceded in death by a son Gregory Scott Gunter, a grandson, Robert Lee Gunter, brothers, Fred Gunter, Ray Gunter, Charlie Gunter, Vance Gunter, Guy Gunter, and Vernon Gunter as well as a sister, Louise Campbell. Mr. Gunter was a member of the Baldwin Congregational Holiness Church and the V.F.W. of Bessemer City, NC. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Gunter was retired. Survivors include: his wife: Mary Sue Gunter, Lula, GA; Daughters: Pamela Gail Hahn, Alto, GA; Nikki M. Gunter, Gainesville, GA; Sons: Gary E. Gunter, Gainesville, GA; Jeff Gunter and Ralph A. "Tony" Gunter, both of Bessemer City, NC; David Anthony Cline, Commerce, GA; Brother: Rev. Eugene Gunter, Gastonia, NC; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will he held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, September22, 2006 from the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin with Rev. Sanford Kimbrell and Rev. Bill Trotter officiating. Burial will follow in the Westview Cemetery, Lula, GA.
