P.Q. Franklin

P. Q. FRANKLIN, age 82, of Mt. Airy, GA, died Thursday, October 25, 2007 at his daughter's residence. Mr. Franklin was born on February 3, 1925 to the late Hilliard and Altha Adams Franklin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Richard Keith Franklin, a brother, Carl Franklin, and sisters, Callie Garrett, Lorene Franklin, Lou Emma Franklin, Addie Allen, and Catherine Turpin. Mr. Franklin was a retired saw miller and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. Survivors include: his son, Stanley Wayne Franklin, Mt. Airy, GA; his daughter and son-in-law: Pam and Wendell Wooley, Clarkesville, GA; his sisters: Ruth Jameson, Clarkesville, GA; Cleo Turner, Eastanollee, GA; his brother: Lawrence Franklin, Mt. Airy, GA; 2 granddaughters: Amber Franklin, Johnson City, TN; Amanda Eller, Clarkesville, GA; 1 grandson, Matt Wooley, Clarkesville, GA. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 27, 2007 from the Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Mize, Rev. Jonathan Fitzpatrick, and Rev. Brian Stephens officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. Johnny Thomas officiating at the graveside. The family will receive friends at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday.
