Phimpha Thammavongsa

Phimpha Thammavongsa, age 82, of Mt. Airy, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2018.Mr. Thammavongsa was born on June 5, 1936, in Laos. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tiam and Thongdum Tiamtisack and wife, Inpeng Thammavongsa. Mr. Thammavongsa was a College Director of Professors. Prior to retirement, he was a machinist with Scovill Manufacturing. He was a member of the Lao Families Association of Habersham and the Buddha Satha Tham Lao Temple.Survivors include his daughters: Pittsamay Bouasy of Georgia, Kayla Hentze of Atlanta, GA, and Chintana Ahlund of Rhode Island; sons: Somsack Banouvong of Canada, Kelvin Thammavongsa of North Carolina, and Benjamin Thammavongsa of Mt. Airy, GA; sister, Bopa Souksakhon of Laos; fourteen grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 pm on Thursday, December 6, 2018, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia, with Monks from the Lao Temple officiating.The family will receive friends from 3-5:30 pm on Wednesday, December 5, 2018, at the funeral home.Those wishing to express online condolences to the family may do so by visiting www.whitfieldfuneralhomes.com.Arrangements are in the care of Whitfield Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel, 1370 Industrial Boulevard, Baldwin, Georgia.
