Phanhom Athakhanh

Phanhom Athakhanh, age 98, of Cornelia, Georgia passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2018. Mr. Athakhanh was born on August 8, 1919 in Amnath, Thailand. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, and two brothers. Mr. Athakhanh served in the Lao Armed Forces during World War II and the Laotian Civil War. He was a member of the Habersham Lao Family Association. Mr. Athakhanh is survived by his wife of over 70 years, Onechanh Poula Athakhanh, of Cornelia; eight daughters; three sons; 30 grandchildren, and 33 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 10, 2018 at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel in Baldwin, Georgia with Monks officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, August 9, 2018 at the funeral home.
