Peggy Jean Irvin

PEGGY JOAN IRVIN, age 79, of Cornelia, Georgia died Friday, May 23, 2008 at a local care facility. Ms. Irvin was born on August 5, 1928 in White County, Georgia to the late Lat and Harriett Houston Vandiver. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Jimmy Vandiver and Buzz Vandiver. Ms. Irvin was a member of the Cornelia First Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Survivors include: her daughter and son-in-law: Janice and James Norton, Hull, GA; her son and daughter-in-law: Dennis and Gail Irvin, Homer, GA; her sister: Vivian Smith, Cleveland, GA; her brother: Dan Vandiver, Lula, GA; 4 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 25, 2008 from the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia with Pastor Randy Crowe officiating. Interment will follow in Gateway Memorial Gardens, 38 Boulevard Street, Cleveland, Georgia 30528. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 until 8 p.m. on Saturday.
