Paul Douglas "Doug" Forester, age 71, of Cornelia, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2016. Mr. Forester was born on November 20, 1944 in Gainesville, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his mother, Pauline N. Tanner; brothers, Winford Simmemon; Larry Simmemin; mother-in-law, Mollie Nicholson Sisk. He was a member of Alto Baptist Church. Mr. Forester was A United States Marine Corp Vietnam Veteran, and also served the United States Army National Guard for 12 years. He was a Department Manager with Beaulieu of America with 23 years of service. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Peggy Sisk Forester, of Cornelia; son and daughter-in-law, Grant and Erin Forester, of Mt. Airy; sisters and brothers-in-law, Earnestine and Billy Stephens, of Gainesville; Diane and Robert Padilla, of Dahlonega; Deborah and Jimmy Anderson, of Dahlonega; Marie and Michael Jones, of Cumming; sister, Lurline Reed, of Gainesville; brother, Bobby Simmemon, of Gainesville; brother-in-law, Rev. Randall Reed, of Oakwood; granddaughter, Emma Elizabeth Forester, of Mt. Airy.
