Paul Bennett

PAUL BENNETT, age 74, of Cornelia, GA, died Saturday, November 3, 2007 at the Habersham County Medical Center. Mr. Bennett was born on July 27, 1933 in Franklin County, Georgia to the late Henry and Cora Wade Bennett. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Higginbotham Bennett and a number of sisters and brothers. Mr. Bennett was a United States Army veteran and was a member of the Grant Reeves VFW Post #7720, the Habersham County American Legion Post #84 and the Rabun County DAV Chapter #15. He was of the Baptist Faith and was a self-employed building contractor. Survivors include: his sister: Elnora Gailey, Alto, GA; his brothers: Horace Bennett, Alto, GA; Doyle Bennett, Baldwin, GA; Numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 5, 2007 at Yonah Memorial Gardens with Randy Caudell officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Habersham County American Legion Post #84 and the Rabun County DAV Chapter #15. The family will receive friends at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday.
