Otis Umberhant

OTIS UMBERHANT, age 82, of Baldwin, GA, died Monday, April 17, 2006 at a private care facility. Mr. Umberhant was born on February 17, 1924 in Habersham County, Georgia. He was a son of the late Andrew Larkin and Emma Pitts Umberhant and was also preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy York Umberhant, a son, Donnie Umberhant, and brothers Everett Umberhant and Elmo Umberhant. Mr. Umberhant was a self-employed sewing machine repairman and automobile salesman. Survivors include: his daughter: Betty Summerlin, Mobile, AL; his sons: Terry Umberhant, Richmond, VA; Rev. John Umberhant, Mt. Airy, GA; Steve Umberhant, Maysville, GA; *Danny Umberhant; sister: Christine Elrod, Greenville, SC; brothers: Arthur Umberhant, Cleveland, GA; Gene Umberhant, Mt. Airy, GA; Glenn Umberhant, Demorest, GA; Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April, 20, 2006 from the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, with Rev. Sanford Kimbrell and Rev. Avery Mote officiating. Burial will follow in the Baldwin Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday.
