Otis Brown, age 83, of Banks County, GA, died Sunday, November 4, 2007 at the B.J.C. Medical Center following an extended illness. Mr. Brown was born on March 31, 1924 in Banks County, Georgia to the late Charlie and Omie Brown. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Gailey Brown, his sons, James Clifford "Buddy" Brown, and Merin Henry Brown, his brothers, Johnny Brown, William Brown, Noah Brown, as well as sisters, Lizzie Stewart and Mary Skelton. Mr. Brown was a self-employed mechanic and was a member of the Broad River Baptist Church. Survivors include: his daughter and son-in-law: Joyce B. and Horace Smith, Lula, GA; his sister: Sarah Skelton, Hoschton, GA; his brother: Dayton Brown, Braselton, GA; 4 grandchildren: Shannon Wilson, Dwayne Wilson, Darren and his wife Donna Brown, and Pepper and her husband Jim Short; 5 great-grandchildren: Shea Gowan, Scott Brown, Tiffany and C.J. Marcus, and Kayla Brown. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia with Rev. Luther Williams and Mr. Wayne Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. on Monday.
