Ora Lee Tench Nicholson

ORA LEE TENCH NICHOLSON, age 94, of Clarkesville, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2011. Mrs. Nicholson was born in Habersham County, Georgia, on July 24, 1916, to the late George and Dora Erwin Tench. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hoke Nicholson; sisters, Cleo West, Mildred Smith, and Marie Ledford; brothers, Ted Tench, Hoyt Tench, J.C. Tench, Lester Tench, and Bobby Tench. Mrs. Nicholson retired from Habersham Mills with over 30 plus years of dedicated service. She attended Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Demorest, Georgia. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Jerry Fisher, Clarkesville, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Kay Nicholson, Clarkesville, GA; sister, Joann MeLoy, Elberton, GA; half brother, Mike Tench, Mt Holly, NC; three grandchildren, Kevin, Heather, and Korey Nicholson; two great-grandchildren, Kade Nicholson and Dylan Nicholson. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 17, 2011, Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia with Rev. Paris Whitworth officiating. Interment will follow in Hill's Crossing Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2011, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia.
