Ora Lee Benfiel Jarrell Cawthon

ORA LEE BENFIEL JARRELL CAWTHON, age 95, of Cornelia, GA, died Sunday, March 12, 2006 at a private care facility following an extended illness. Mrs. Cawthon was born on February 28, 1911 in Cornelia, Georgia. She was a daughter of the late Jobe and Bertha Carson Benfiel and was also preceded in death by her husbands, Dr. William Henry Jarrell and Edwin Hill Cawthon. Mrs. Cawthon was a member of the Cornelia First Baptist Church and the Volunteer Sunday School Class. She was a retired Dental Assistant and was a volunteer with the American Red Cross for a number of years. Survivors include: her sister, Ona Mae Lamb, Cornelia, GA; her sister-in-law: Lorene Benfiel, Gainesville, GA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 14, 2006 from the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, with Dr. T. Logan Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Level Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday.
