Ona Mae Benfiel Lamb

ONA MAE BENFIEL LAMB, age 89, of Cornelia, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2012, at Rockdale Healthcare Center in Conyers. Ms. Lamb was born on December 29, 1923, in Alto, Georgia; daughter of the late Jobe and Bertha Carson Benfiel. She was a homemaker and formerly a dental assistant. Ms. Lamb was a member of the Cornelia United Methodist Church. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Marshall Ivey, Conyers, GA; grandchildren and their spouses, Brian and Glynis Ivey, Covington, GA and Kerry and Shane Klima, Atlanta, GA; great-grandchildren, Jared and Justin Ivey, Oxford, GA; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Ms. Lamb's wishes were that her body be donated to the Emory School of Medicine. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2013, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia, with Rev. Jay Hughes officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O.
