Ollie Tench Wingo

OLLIE TENCH WINGO, age 77, of Spartanburg, SC, formerly of Demorest, GA passed away Monday, January 25, 2010, following an extended illness. Mrs. Wingo was born in Madison, GA on April 16, 1932. She was raised by the late James "Jim" and Helena White Miller. Mrs. Wingo was preceded in death by her son, Charles Tench, sisters, Evie Chitwood, Clara Gunn and Cora Hansard, brothers, Albert , James and Clyde Miller. She was a member of Double Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. Wingo was the owner / operator of Tench's Tax Service for 40 years. Mrs. Wingo is survived by her husband, Thomas H. Wingo, Spartanburg, SC; son and daughter-in-law, Roger and June Tench, Danielsville, GA; sister, Catherine Duncan, Clarkesville, GA, grandchildren, Kamie Cabe, Chad, Brent and Christopher Tench and step - grandson, Chad Kranats; several great-grandchildren; also surviving, Lisa Abernathy and Cristy Noll, whom she loved as her own daughters. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, January 28, 2010 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA with the Rev. Kenneth McEntire officiating. Interment will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA. Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA will be in charge of the arrangements.
