OLLIE JOHNSON, age 75, of Clarkesville, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2013, at a private care facility following a period of declining health. Mrs. Johnson was born on August 23, 1937, in Leeds, Alabama; daughter of the late Olvin and Slety Elridge Davis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edgar Johnson and 14 siblings. Mrs. Johnson was an independent personal care giver. Above all, she was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Johnson was of the Church of God faith. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Clarice and Jud Nichols, Clayton, Janet and Robert Ruledge, Conyers, Angie and Keith Whiten, Clarkesville, and Judy and Earl Johnson, Clayton; son and daughter-in-law, Buster and Donna Johnson, Tiger; sons, Daniel Johnson, Clayton, Dennis Johnson, Crossville, AL, Doug Johnson, Buford, and Wade Johnson, Dillard; sister, Jo Johnson, Loganville; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 18, 2013, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia, with Rev. James E. Turpen, Sr. and Rev. Richard Wright officiating. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2013, at the funeral home. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 225 Peachtree Street Northeast, Suite 550, Atlanta, Georgia 30303.
