Odell B Cathey

ODELL BENJAMIN CATHEY, age 78, of Clarkesville, GA passed away Friday, February 26, 2010, following an extended illness. Mr. Cathey was born on October 29, 1931 in Clarkesville, GA to the late Robert Hershel Cathey, Sr., and Letha Jones Cathey. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert H. Cathey, Jr. and Marvin Cathey, sister, Edith Cathey Dark. Mr. Cathey was of the former World Wide Church of God Faith. He was a US Army Veteran and retired plant engineer with Atlanta Board of Education. Survivors include, former wife, Eva Cathey, Austell, GA; son, Benji T. Cathey, Austell, GA; sisters, Mary Cathey Anderson, Lilburn, GA, Louise Cathey Dover, Mt. Airy, GA, Mildred Cathey Rayner, Clarkesville, GA and Virginia Cathey Carter, Clarkesville, GA; and grandson, Andrew Thomas Langley. Graveside services will be held at 2 pm, on Sunday, February 28, 2010 at Yonah Memorial Gardens, with Andy Branscum officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:30 - 4:00 pm and 6:00 - 8:00 pm Saturday, February 27, 2010 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA.
