Norena Gulley Erwin

NORENA GULLEY ERWIN, age 89, of Cornelia, GA, died Sunday, April 8, 2007 at a private care facility. Mrs. Erwin was born on May 9, 1917 in Dodge County, Georgia to the late Henry H. and Ida Ayers Gulley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J. Lewis Erwin, Sr., and a son, James L. Erwin, Jr.. She was the last member of her immediate family. Mrs. Erwin was a homemaker and a member of the Rock Springs Baptist Church. Survivors include: her daughters and sons-in-law: Mary and Frank Waldrip, Lawrenceville, GA; Joan and Barney Gerrin, Clarkesville, GA; Ruth and Vermon Banks, Demorest, GA; Jean and Larry Gailey, Baldwin, GA; her daughter-in-law: Janice M. Erwin, Cornelia, GA; her sons and daughters-in-law; Jimmy and Donna Erwin, Mt. Airy, GA; Randall and Linda Erwin, Clarkesville, GA; 22 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 from the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin with Rev. Verner London, Rev. Henry Grady Barnes, and Rev. Clyde Garrison officiating. Burial will follow in the Mud Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Tim House officiating at the graveside. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday.
