Nina Hedden Mashburn

Nina Hedden Mashburn, age 68, of Cornelia, GA died Thursday, April 17, 2008 at the residence following a sudden illness. Mrs. Mashburn was born in Macon County, NC on March 12, 1940 to the late Paul & Beulah Hedden Snipes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Moses Mashburn, brothers, J.C. & Wayne Tomes, and one sister, Sissy Tomes. Mrs. Mashburn was of the Baptist faith, a full time homemaker and a retired seamtress. Survivors include daughters, Pat Mashburn, Clarkesville, GA, Kit Lewis, Athens, GA, Sandra Kimbrell, Braselton, GA, Teresa York, Cornelia, GA, sister, Nancy Marquez, Virginia Beach, VA, brothers, Benjamin and Harry Lee Tomes, both of Norwich, CT and Marshall Tomes, Horizon City, TX, ten gandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, April 20, 2008 from the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA with Rev. Billy Burrell officiating. Burial will follow in the VFW Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-7 pm, Saturday, April 19, 2008 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA
