Nellie Harrell Crosby

Nellie Harrell Crosby, age 83, of Dunwoody, formerly of Cornelia, Georgia passed away Sunday, April 24, 2011. Mrs. Crosby was born in Norfolk, VA on March 3, 1928, to the late Willard Franklin and Lizzie Perry Harrell. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Jack Russell Crosby and a brother Willard Harrell. Mrs. Crosby was a member at Level Grove Baptist Church. She was a home maker. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Jane Knapp and William, Atlanta, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Jack Crosby Jr. and Dinah; sisters, Alma Hudgins, Norfolk, VA, Katherine Simmons, and Minnie Nery, both of Virginia Beach, Mary Combs, Chesapeake, VA, Rachel Scott, Williamsburg, VA, and Tanya Hall, Gloucester, VA; brothers, Farrell, Freddy, and Perry Herrell all of Norfolk, VA; 2 grandchildren, William R. Knapp and Elizabeth Knapp. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at Yonah Memorial Gardens with Rev. Brian James officiating. Level Grove Church members will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Level Grove Baptist Church, P.O. Box 416, Cornelia, GA 30531. Arrangements are in the care of the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, GA.
