Nellie Westbrook Cantrell

Nellie Westbrook Cantrell, age 90, of Mount Airy, Georgia passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2018. Mrs. Cantrell was born on July 24, 1928 in Franklin County, Georgia to the late Tom and Lilly Black Westbrook. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Cantrell; son, Larry Dwayne “Punk” Cantrell; and grandson, Chance Cantrell. Mrs. Cantrell was a member of Mount Airy Baptist Church. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Terry Barrett, of Mt. Airy; daughter, Garnelle Holcomb, of Mt. Airy; sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Phyllis Cantrell, of Mt. Airy; Don and Teresa Cantrell, of Martin; eleven grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 31, 2018 at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel with Dr. B.V. Franklin, Rev. Ray Turpin, and Mr. Don Cantrell, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 31, 2018 prior to the service.
