Nannie "Nina" Monk

NANNIE "NINA" MONK, age 84 of Cornelia, GA passed away on Monday, January 19, 2009. Ms. Monk was born on June 30, 1924 in Banks County, GA to the late George W. and Mary Ette Strange Osborne. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Ms. Monk was a member of Hillside Baptist Church. Before retirement, she was employed by Ingles as a baker and was a Wal-Mart "greeter". Survivors include son, Andy Monk, of Demorest, GA; sister, Bernice Westbrook, Cornelia, GA. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA with Rev. Billy Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Nails Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2009.
