NANCY LURLENE MARTIN MOTE, age 89, of Demorest, Georgia, died Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at the Habersham County Medical Center. Mrs. Mote was born on March 18, 1919 in Habersham County, Georgia to the late Noah Calvin and Mary Beatrice Ivie Martin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Erford Lee Mote, her son, Maxie Mote, her grandson, Jason Mote, and her great-grandson, Clayton Coleman, as well as, her sister, Drucilla Reignhardt, and brothers, Floyd, Gus, Joe, and Paul Martin. Mrs. Mote was the last charter member of Bethel Temple Congregational Holiness Church. She was a retired certified nursing assistant, a member of the Red Hat Society and the Habersham County Senior Center. Survivors include: her daughter and son-in-law: Lois and Ernest Nations, Jr., Clarkesville, GA; her sons and daughters-in-law: Jerry and Jean Mote, Lamar and Willette Mote, and Rev. Ronald and Vickie Mote, all of Demorest, GA; her sister: Jean Moore, Dallas, GA; her brother and sister-in-law: Robert and Ann Martin, Sharpsburg, GA; 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 9, 2008 from the Bethel Temple Congregational Holiness Church with Rev. Jonathan Fitzpatrick, Rev. Wayne Hicks, Rev. Ronald Mote, and Scott Mote officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday. Mrs. Mote will be placed in the church at 2:30 p.m. on Friday to lie in state until the funeral hour.
