Mrs. Mary Frances York Umbehant

Mrs. Mary Frances (York) Umbehant, age 86, of Cornelia, GA passed away on November 26, 2011, at her residences. Mrs. Umbehant was born on September 23, 1925, in Habersham County; she was the daughter of the late Joe York and Lillie Walden McDonald. She retired from Yonah Realty Manufacturing Company as a seamstress. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Mrs. Umbehant was a member of the Bridge Family Worship Church of Cornelia. She enjoyed attending prayer Meetings and was a dependable prayer partner for her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Everett Umbehant, granddaughter, Dasha Parson, sister, Minnie Payne and Dot Umberhant, and brothers, Joe York and J.D. York. She is survived by her children, David Umbehant and Margaret, Demorest, Eddie Umbehant and Pam, Mt. Airy, Gale Umbehant, Bowman, Ricky Umbehant and Hazel, Cornelia, Mickey Umbehant and Teresa, Cornelia, and Dale Davidson and Ricky of Lula, grandchildren, Alison and Donald Singer, Monica and Jason Welborn, Matt ahnd Lori Umbehant, Danielle and Sam Scott, Jeremy and Alecia Edge, William Umbehant, Christy Umbehant, Christopher Umbehant, Kellah and Anthony Watkins, Clint and Tonya Umbehant, Courtney and Natale Umbehant, Chris Davidson, Trisha and Joey Gilmer, and Leah and Corey Williams, 20 great-greandchildren, sisters, Lessie Flanagan, Betty Gulledge, Margie Rabb, Hilda Mewborn, and Linda Ledford, brothers, Larry York and Lloyd York, and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 28, 2011 at the Bridge Family Worship Church, Cornelia with Rev. Bobby Hattaway, Rev. Mickey Umbehant, Rev. Courtney Umbehant, and Rev. Eddie Umbehant officiating. Burial will follow in Community Baptist Church Cemetery, Mt. Airy. The Family will receive friends at the Bridge Family Worship Sunday, November 27, 2011, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. At other hours the family will be at their respective homes.
