Mr. Fay Blackburn

Mr. Fay Blackburn, age 81, of Cornelia, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2016. Mr. Blackburn was born on August 26, 1935, in Alto, Georgia, to the late R.H. Blackburn and Henretta Pettitt Blackburn. He was also preceded in death by his sisters: Daisy Blackburn, Pauline Ferguson, Hazel Pritchett, and Elsie Terry Sutton. Mr. Blackburn was formerly employed with Carwood Manufacturing and Yonah Realty Company. He attended Good News Baptist Church. Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Doris Smith Blackburn, Cornelia; daughters and sons-in-law, Christy Parr Bentley and Donald, Athens and Felisha Parr Gailey and Jonathan, Cornelia; sons, Dylan Marshall Parr and Joshua Matthew Parr, both of Cornelia; brother, Ray Blackburn, Alto; and great-grandchild, Jaiden Mote. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm on Friday, December 30, 2016, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia, with Rev. Austin Kelley and Rev. Swayne Carlan officiating. Interment will follow in Hazel Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Thursday, December 29, 2016, at the funeral home.
