Monk Ngohn "Venthong Hongsavady"

Monk Ngonh "Venthong Hongsavady", age 61, of Alto, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness. Monk Hongsavady was born in Laos on July 20, 1950. He traveled countless miles around the world preaching Buddhism to many Temples without cost from 1983-2011. One of many venerable recognized nationally and internationally. Survivors include brother, Monk Phou Hongsavady, Laos and several other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at the Wat Lao Buddha Sattha Temple with the Monks from the Wat Lao Buddha Sattha and Lao Families Association of Habersham County officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 21, 2011, and Friday, October 28, 2011 at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel. The family will also receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon on Saturday, November 5, 2011, and Saturday, November 12, 2011, at the South Chapel.
