Miriam Elizabeth Thompson Moore

Miriam Elizabeth Thompson Moore, age 78 of Cornelia, GA, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Wednesday, May 22, 2019 following an extended illness. Mrs. Moore was born on October 22, 1940 in Demorest, GA to the late Hoyt and Irene Vinson Thompson. She was a member of the Cornelia Congregational Holiness Church. Mrs. Moore was retired from the Habersham County Board of Education as secretary to the Superintendent with 32 years of loyal and dedicated service. She was a member of the Habersham Retired Educator Association. Mrs. Moore loved music and was a very talented musician. Mrs. Moore is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Don L. Moore, Cornelia, GA; daughters, Rhonda (Chris) Smith, Clarkesville, GA; Carole Elrod, Flowery Branch, GA; Anita (Tracy) Tomlin, Evans, GA; Lynn Moore, Cornelia, GA; sister, Sue Carnes, Mt, airy, GA; 6 grandchildren: Ethan Smith, Cody Smith, Courtney Elrod, David Elrod, Haleigh Tomlin, and Hope Tomlin; 2 great grandchildren: Skylar Smith and Sage Smith. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, May 25th, 2019 at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel with Rev. Terry Benfield and Rev. Scott Ledbetter officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens with Rev. Ryan Carnes officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 1:45 pm on Saturday, May 25th, 2019 at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel.
