Minta Davis

January 19, 1924 — July 10, 2010

Minta Kane Davis, age 86, of Decatur, Georgia passed away on Saturday, July 10, 2010, after suffering from Alzheimer's for over 16 years. Mrs. Davis was born on January 19, 1924, in Horse Cave, Kentucky to the late Otis A. and Sallie Scott Kane. She was also preceded in death by husband, Clyde V. Davis and brother, Donald A. Kane and his wife, Jamie Lou. Mrs. Davis was a member of Westminister Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, GA and a long time member of Lavista Lioness Club. She was a retired executive secretary for the vice president of R.J. Reynold Aluminum Co. Atlanta Division with 35 years of service. Survivors include sister-in-law, Doris Davis Pidgeon and husband, Rezin, Atlanta, GA; nieces, Brenda Gail Kane Caswell and husband, Billy, Munford, Kentucky, Julie Ree Kane Hatcher and husband, Jeff, Horse Cave, Kentucky, Cathy Jackson and husband, Randy, Pensacola, Florida, Peggy Hayes and husband, Joe, Chesapeak, Virginia, and Lisa Hilliard and husband, Robert, Pace, Florida; a number of great nieces and great-great-nieces; nephew, John Pidgeon and wife, Sabra, Marietta, GA; and long time friends and guardians, Sandy and John Grimes of Dawsonville, GA, formerly of Tucker, GA. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Tucker, GA with Rev. Patricia "Pat" Anderson officiating. Donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Georgia Chapter, 1925 Century Boulevard N.E., Atlanta, Georgia 30345.
