Minnie Lee Powers Addis

MINNIE LEE POWERS ADDIS, age 94, of Cornelia, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2012, at the Oaks at Scenic View in Baldwin, Georgia. Mrs. Addis was born on February 13, 1918, in Habersham County, Georgia, to the late Dee and Estelle Free Powers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Addis and her son, Virgil Addis, Jr. Mrs. Addis was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Danny Umberhandt, Baldwin, GA; son, Kenneth Addis; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia, with Rev. Johnny Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the Habersham Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at the funeral home.
