Mike Walker

MIKE WALKER, age 66, of Alto, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2013, at Habersham Medical Center. Mr. Walker was born on April 7, 1947, in Gainesville, Georgia; son of the late Breman and Daisy Ivie Walker. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Ivie Walker. Mike was a graduate of North Georgia College. He was a United States Army Veteran having proudly served in Vietnam, where he received two Purple Hearts. Mike was a business owner of H&W Associates. He was a member of Level Grove Baptist Church, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, Upper Chattahoochee Cycling Club, and Habersham Flyers. Mike was a private aircraft pilot and an avid cyclist. Survivors include his wife, Selina Walker, Alto, GA and sisters, Winnona Garrison, Rome, GA and Glyness Meeks, Lillington, NC. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 10, 2013, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia, with Rev. Garry Garrison officiating and full military honors provided. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour on Monday, at the funeral home.
