Michael Kay

Michael Kay, age 51, of Cornelia, GA, died Thursday, July 30, 2009 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Mr. Kay was born on July 22, 1958 in Anderson, SC. He was preceded in death by his father James Kay. Mr. Kay was a 13 year veteran of the United States Air Force and was employed with the Baldwin City Police Department. Survivors include: his mother: Rosa Merck, Belton, SC; his fiancé: Stacy L. Caporale, Cornelia, GA, and her 3 daughters; his two sons: Shinya and Shawn Kay; his sister: Wanda Kay Garrison, Belton, SC; his brothers: Billy Kay, Hawaii; Terry Kay, Belton, SC. The family will receive friends at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia from 4:30 until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2009. A second visitation will be held on Sunday, August 2, 2009 from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. at the residence of Wanda Kay Garrison, 1113 Breazeale Road, Belton, SC 29627. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Baldwin City Police Department for the care of his family, 155 Willingham Avenue, Baldwin, Georgia 30511.
