MICHAEL CARLTON GAILEY, age 40, of Baldwin, Georgia, died Friday, December 26, 2008 at his residence. Mr. Gailey was born on January 5, 1968 in Stephens County, Georgia. He was a 1986 graduate of Habersham Central High School, graduated from North Georgia Technical College in electronics, and graduated from Truett-McConnell College where he earned his Associates Degree. He also attended Piedmont College. Mr. Gailey was a member of the Prospect United Methodist Church and was the Youth Group Leader and a Vacation Bible School Teacher at his church. He was a Copier Technician with Duplicating Products. He was a Banks County 4-H Club Volunteer and a coach. Mr. Gailey was an avid woodsman who loved to fish and hunt. He was a bee keeper and a woodworker. Survivors include: his wife: Gina Kesler Gailey, Baldwin, GA; his daughters: Courtney Gailey and Emily Gailey, both of Baldwin, GA; his parents: Thomas and Pauline Gailey, Baldwin, GA; his brother and sister-in-law: Roger and Laura Gailey, Baldwin, GA; his maternal grandmother: Cleola Byrd, Toccoa, GA; his paternal grandmother: Rubie Wilbanks Gailey, Baldwin, GA; his niece: Madison Gailey, Baldwin, GA; his nephew: Morgan Gailey, Baldwin, GA. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 28, 2008 from the Prospect United Methodist Church with Rev. Dennis Wilkes and Rev. Tim House officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia from 6 until 9 p.m. on Saturday and again from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, just prior to the funeral service.
