MAUD M. MARTIN, age 88, of Cornelia, Georgia passed away on Monday, November 8, 2010, at a private care facility. Mrs. Martin was born on March 28, 1922, in Varnville, South Carolina to the late Jesse F. and Neta Ruth DuBois Mixon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard E. Martin, Sr. Mrs. Martin was a 55 year member of First Baptist Church of Cornelia, Georgia. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Sonja M. and Linton "Kim" Crawford, Cornelia, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Richard E., Jr. and Wanda Taylor Martin, Hiawassee, GA; sister, Beatrice M. Cornell, Cornelia, GA; 4 grandchildren, DeRenda Crawford Cragg, Bryan Taylor Martin, David Martin Crawford, and Clayton Edward Martin; and 5 great-grandchildren, Braxton Martin Pierce, Spencer Christian Pierce, Augusta Dailey Martin, Mary Catherine Holton Martin, and John Taylor Martin. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 11, 2010, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA with Dr. Eric Spivey officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. on Wednesday, November 10, 2010, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA.
