Mattie Lee Cotton Partain

MATTIE LEE COTTON PARTAIN, age 96, of Baldwin, GA, and formerly of Carnesville, GA died Friday, April 6, 2007 at the Habersham County Medical Center. Mrs. Partain was born on January 29, 1911 in Banks County, Georgia to the late Robert and Ada Segars Cotton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fairell Partain, sons, Gene Partain and Bert Partain, as well as a daughter, Kaye Lonsberry. Mrs. Partain was a homemaker and a member of the Nails Creek Baptist Church. She is the last member of her immediate family. Survivors include: her daughters: Pearlie Paulk, Tifton, GA; Mattie Ruth Segars, Toccoa, GA; Nell Goss, Cornelia, GA; Lynn Wilbanks, Baldwin, GA; her son: Bill Partain, Tifton, GA; 24 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 from the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin with John DuBose officiating. Burial will follow in the Nails Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday.
