MARY VIRGINIA HUDGINS LAMB, age 68, of Alto, Georgia, formerly of Decatur, Georgia, passed away on Friday, October 7, 2011, at her residence. Mrs. Lamb was born on September 16, 1943, in Laurinburg, North Carolina. She was a daughter of the late James Phillip and Mary Bethel Jones Hudgins. Mrs. Lamb taught history in the DeKalb County School System. She later became a special education teacher and then an elementary school counselor, also in DeKalb County. Mrs. Lamb was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Robin Lamb, Lilburn, GA; son, Phillip Edgar Lamb, Decatur, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Fleda and Paul Aaron, Monument, CO; brother and sister-in-law, James Phillip Lamb, Jr. and Mary Ann, Grand Prairie, TX; grandsons, Gavin Lamb and Aidan Lamb; and special friend, Adrianne Bonham. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2011, at the First Baptist Church of Decatur, 308 Clairemont Avenue, with Rev. Bob Williamson officiating. The family will receive friends after the service on Saturday. Interment services will be held at the Resthaven Garden of Memory in Decatur, Georgia on Monday, October 10, 2011.
