Mary Ruth Duckett Welborn

MARY RUTH DUCKETT WELBORN, age 96, of Cornelia, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2012. Mrs. Welborn was born on May 27, 1916, in Habersham County, Georgia; daughter of the late Plumer C. and Cara Shore Duckett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Pope Welborn. Mrs. Welborn was a graduate of Cornelia High School and Piedmont College. She was a retired elementary school teacher with 28 years of service. Mrs. Welborn was a member of First Baptist Church of Cornelia. She is survived by several cousins and a special friend, Charles Crowe, Mt. Airy, GA. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 25, 2012, in Baldwin City Cemetery, with Dr. Eric Spivey and Rev. David Turner officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 24, 2012, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia.
