Mary Nelle Inglis Oliver

MARY NELLE BRISCOE INGLIS OLIVER, age 90, of Vero Beach, FL passed away Friday, July 13, 2007. Mrs. Oliver was born on November 30, 1916 in Between, GA to the late Lemma Livingston Smith Briscoe and Homer Shaw Briscoe. She was preceded in death by her first husband of 46 years Harold Simmons Inglis formerly of Clarkesville, GA, half brothers Ralph and Sam Briscoe, and half sisters Sara Frances Briscoe and Ona Kate Briscoe Lewis. Mrs. Oliver received her teaching certificate from Georgia State College for Women and taught elementary school. She and Mr. Inglis resided in Miami, FL for most of their lives where she was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Miami Springs. Most recently she was a member of Vero Beach Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Oliver was an active member of PEO an education philanthropy for over 40 years. Mary Nelle was a devoted wife and mother and supported Mr. Inglis for 46 years as he established and expanded a successful business in Miami, FL. She is survived by her devoted husband, Sherrill Oliver, Vero Beach, FL; her son and daughter-in-law, James "Jim" Harold and Donna Inglis, Miami, FL; her daughter and son-in-law Martha Elaine Inglis Spence and Hank Spence, Miami, FL; 5 beloved granddaughters, 3 great-grandchildren, and 4 step-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at 2PM from the Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Hollywood, GA. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. No visitation will be held at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Miami Springs, 301 Westward Dr. Miami Springs, FL 33166.
