MARY JIM CRIDER MCCOLLUM, age 81, of Clarkesville, GA, died Monday, December 8, 2008 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Mrs. McCollum was born on January 8, 1927 in Franklin County, Georgia to the late Earnest and Josie Manley Crider. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Arnold Crider. Mrs. McCollum was a member of the Cool Springs United Methodist Church and was past treasurer of the Sunday School Department of her church as well as a former choir member and was a singer with many traveling gospel singing groups. She was a homemaker. Survivors include: her husband: G. P. McCollum, Clarkesville, GA; her daughter and son-in-law: Rhonda and Terry Gladden, Clarkesville, GA; her son and daughter-in-law: E. Jay and Susan McCollum, Clarkesville, GA; her sister: LaNora Andrews, Lavonia, GA; 4 grandchildren: Melissa Lovell, Wesley Gladden, Daniel and his wife Stephanie McCollum, and Douglas Gladden; 2 great-grandchildren: Avalon and Alena. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 from the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia with Rev. Steve McIntyre and Rev. Garvis Kinsey. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
