Mary Genell Whitfield Williams

GENELL WHITFIELD WILLIAMS, age 71, Homer, Georgia passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2011. Mrs. Williams was born in Banks County, Georgia on April 10, 1940, to the late James Hubert and Ruby Gertrude Caudell Whitfield. In addition to parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Roger Williams, and daughter Samantha Williams. Mrs. Williams was a member of Charity Baptist Church. She was a member of the WMU, and was a Sunday School Teacher for a number of years. Mrs. Williams was a homemaker. Survivors include her mother-in-law, Gladys Pierce, Martin, GA; daughter, Becky Williams, Homer, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Keith and Angela Williams, Commerce, GA and Danny and Dawn Williams, Carnesville, GA; sister, Carolyn Purcell, Mt. Airy, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Billy Poole, Homer, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Yvonne Whitfield, Mt. Airy, GA, Gary and Lynn Whitfield, Homer, GA and Lamar and Debbie Whitfield, Clarkesville, GA; six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2011, at Charity Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Smith and Rev. Billy Burrell officiating. Interment will follow in Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery. The body will lie in state from 1:30 p.m., on Tuesday, July 12, 2011, until the funeral hour. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., on Monday, July 11, 2011 at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia. The family requests that donations be made to the Charity Baptist Church, 1302 Highway 51 North, Homer, GA 30547.
