Martha Cargill Miller

MARTHA CARGILL MILLER, age 90, of Clarkesville, Georgia, went to be with The Lord on Saturday, June 18, 2016 following an extended illness. Mrs. Miller was born on June 21, 1925 in Columbus, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Hurt Sr. and Mary Love Burts Cargill; beloved husband of 46 years, Richard Kay Miller; twin sister, Mary Caroline Cargill; brothers, Dr. Walter Hurt Cargill, Jr.; Robert Hamilton Cargill; niece, Carol Cargill Fiske; nephew, Walter Hurt Cargill III. She was of the Baptist Faith. Mrs. Miller was a graduate of Florida State University. Prior to her marriage, she was a social worker in the State of Georgia. After her marriage to Mr. Miller in Savannah, Georgia, She devoted her time to being a full time homemaker. Later, She served as a nursing assistant and teaching assistant. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Richard Charles "Chuck" and Nancy Miller, of Chevy Chase, MD; sons, Douglas Stuart Miller, of Mount Airy, GA; Joseph Laurence Miller, of Greenville, NC; brother and sister-in-law, Douglas Burts and Annie Jones Cargill; grandchildren, Sophie Miller, Ellie Miller, Katie Miller, Christopher Miller, Duncan Miller, and Brandon Miller. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
